The first two months of my life, I have learned to do quite a lot. During this time, I fed, I played, I cried, I smiled, I talked. But topping it all up ... I slept most of the time (as I should be). Here's a compilation of the thing I loved to do most, sleep.

It's month 2
Wow, I am no longer a newborn. You can call me an infant now. Can you believe it? It has been two full months. What better way to celebrate than to catch up with my parents' ante-natal classmates and their babies. There were four babies in the catchup today - I even shared the same birthday with one of them (apart from the same place of birth). Then in the evening, I celebrated with my family with a little ice-cream cake after dinner. Lola cooked lots of Pancit for good luck and sweet and sour fish to top it off.

Plenty happened this week. First, I had to go to the GP to get immunized. Boy, wasn't the painful? I even had fever for two days, erratic eating schedule, not much sleep at night. But after a couple of days of pretty tough time for me, mom and dad ... it all started to settle down a bit. I am smiling again as I felt lot better. And by the weekend, I am my usual self - happy as ever.
Sunday morning I even went to shopping with my parents. Mommy dressed me up in the pink rabbit suit (as daddy calls it since I looked like a smiling rabbit in it). I slept through the night all night Sunday and had a full breakie in the morning. I am feeling lot stronger now.
The month two immunization can be quite a pain though. Mommy got me ready by taking on a little bit of baby Panadol shortly before the shot. That didn't quite help stop the fever that night. I consistently had temperatures above 37C. Most of the time I was cranky and didn't quite like to sleep or eat. I am glad it's all done for now ... at least for next couple of months.
I was on the phone with Bubu the other day. She was singing lullabies for me over the phone while I greeted her with my cooing. Daddy thought I almost called him the other day ... baba. But he wasn't too sure if he heard it right. So the game has now moved to hearing me say the first word. I think daddy will be out of town for a week next week, maybe I'd punish him for that by speaking out when he is away. That would teach him a lesson for leaving me for that long. Anyways, I am quite conversational these days. Just because my vocabulary isn't quite rich yet, doesn't stop me from having some good time with people around me.
To mark the occasion, my parents bought me my first story book. I know I can't read yet, but daddy can and until I learn to read, he'd be telling me story every night to put me to sleep ... princess collection for daddy's little princess.

And oh, I am quite active with my hands and legs too. They don't feel safe leaving me around by myself for any time now. And I am quite capable of reaching for the sky. So keep watching ... I am growing fast!

It's all smile, all over the camera
Okay, Mommy had the last laugh. I couldn't do it for much longer. In a series of photo shoots, Mommy managed to capture all the smiles I have been throwing at them lately.
I have been a happy girl. I smile when I wake up; I smile when I am feeling sleepy; and these days I am also smiling out loud. When Daddy comes home, and asks me to give him a smile, I make his day with a big one.
Now that I have grown quite tall - I am fitting in well inside Baby Bjorn when Daddy's carrying me. I also can sit well on the swing - and remain there often falling asleep. I can hold my head high and learning to turn it around to check out what's around me. And oh, I started to suck my fingers. Lola calls it "handburger". Because I start to suck my fingers when I am just feeling hungry - giving a early warning before I start crying for food. That is much appreciated by everyone.

Elmo - my best friend and how I smile
This week I was scheduled to meet my pediatrician for the usual 6 week check. But the doctor called in sick early in the morning. My doctor's visit had to be rescheduled. But as a bonus I had Daddy working from home all day with me and Mommy.
And boy, don't I get their attention. I have been smiling a lot lately. In fact, every time I wake up - I give them a beeee-i-g smile. Every time they do my nappy change, another smile. And the smiles are getting longer too and often with some chuckling sound. You should see my parents going up and down with excitement when that happens!
And I have got few more sounds in my repertoire too - ooh, awww, ayee (yes, you heard that right, Ayee!), eh eh eh, and so on. Every time I see my mom and dad in some deep conversation, I chip in with my magical sound. Their conversation stops for a few seconds, they turn their attention to me and restart with a new topic of conversation - ME!!!!
I can sit in my bath tub too - so Mommy can have both her hands free while washing me. Check it out ...

And oh, I've got a new friend - Elmo. Tita has a talking Elmo in her room. So every time I visit her room - I try to have a conversation with him ... you know, he wants to be my friend! I love Elmo.

I had another milestone this week - I made my first full turn by myself. I love sleeping in my parents bed - I don't like it any other way. So I got lot of room to move around now and roll under either mom or dad. In that process, I made my first full turn lying on my back to then on my tummy. While my parents were thrilled, they are all too worried to leave me alone even for a second. And while I am sleeping, I am now wrapped up by a bunch of pillows ... just in case.

Queen's Birthday long weekend
It was the Queen's Birthday long weekend here - so I had daddy at home for 3 entire days. Although the weather outside was mostly damp and chilly - didn't bother me much. Daddy could spend lot more time with me up at night since he didn't have to go to work in the morning. And mommy got a few longer rests between feeds.
I am making a few different sounds these days - bit more cooing, eh's and uh's, rather than just crying. Makes communication lot better with people around me. I am also spending lot more time sleeping by myself in my cot and learning to put myself back to sleep when I wake up. And mommy says I really like to sleep like an adult, take up the entire bed and roll around as I feel like it (not quite SIDS friendly, but that's how I like it!).

I suppose the highlight of the week was our first family dinner out. Tita treated us mid-week in a Japanese restaurant. We had a booking for 5 plus a baby. When we arrived, we found the table was set complete with a baby chair. Obviously, it was a bit too early for me. So I had to settle for hanging in the sling when they all had their dinner.

Poll results are in
So I asked who do I look like. You had your say. Here it is. Mommy got one vote. Daddy got 5. But 5 of you thought I had a good mix of them both. Here's the final verdict - I do have a good mix of a few of them. I heard others telling me I look bit like Bubu, bit like Lola, a bit like my uncle and bit like aunties. Bubu says I am a crowd pleaser - I make everyone happy. I suppose you can't complain about that!
Oh, did you notice I have grown quite a bit lately? Check out my growth chart. Daddy will keep that updated.

Yey! It's a month!
Time has a plane to catch - it wont slow down! Can you believe it? It has been already one month since I arrived. 29th May was exactly a month since I was born. A lot to celebrate of course. Too bad, Daddy had to spend that night in Adelaide for work and couldn't be with us. So we decided to celebrate it together a day early - on Wednesday. I had my first cake to cut. Obviously Mommy had to do the hard work for me. And since I don't like the taste of solid food yet; I had to give it a pass too. But otherwise, it was a wonderful evening of good food, family celebration and lots of smile for all the good reasons. Lola's spaghetti was an instant hit and so was the fried chicken.
So this week was also the first time Daddy had to leave us for a night. I was a bit upset with that and made Daddy know that very well. But it was all back to my smiling self when he returned on Friday night. Oh did I say, I smile a lot these days. I am recognizing people around me a lot better and learning to greet them with a smile - sometime I keep them entertained for a while with my smiling face! These silly adults - so easily entertained :)
I am starting to make sounds too - it's not all cry after all. Especially if I am not feeling comfortable, I do make some noise before raising the urgency with my cry. And when I get it all right, I also let them know with a small 'uhm'. So they know that was what the fuss was about.
Earlier in the week I went to see the doctor - cause Mommy was worried. She is worried pretty much about everything, by the way. Doctor diagnosed that I have reflux. So I also had my first medicine starting this week. I hate the taste of it. But I suppose I don't always have the choice. Anyway, things aren't too bad. It is more of a precautionary treatment that anything else.
That's pretty much this week's roundup. Don't forget to write to me when you get a chance. Cause I love receiving your notes. See you all soon.
