Valentines day, washed out

Perfect timing
daddy managed to capture the moment I took my hand off the chair and stood on my own

Valentines day fell on the weekend this year. Perfect opportunity for a quick getaway for us all. Love was in the air, but so was raindrops. The plan was a drive to Nelson Bay. The forecast wasn't in favour. But we thought we will take the chance. After all, mommy and daddy both took Monday off to spend more time together. It was a large touring party too. Ninang Wella, Ninong Ronz, Tita Jopai, Tito Allan and Kuya AJ joined us for the short drive out of Sydney.

As we all arrived in Nelson Bay, it was overcast. By the time we found a place to eat, it was pouring down. We rushed into the shelter of a nearby eatery and had our lunch. From there it was straight back to the apartment we were staying for the weekend. With not much to do outdoor because of the rain, we decided to camp indoor and watch movie. We thought it would be just for the day, but it went on for the rest of the day and next. Sun was the hardest thing to find for the whole two days. Movies, indoor games, pizza and short trips to cafe were the next two days' major activities.

As Monday arrived and we were getting ready to check out, hey presto, the sun was smiling bright! It was perfect 20+ degrees outside. While the water was still a bit too cold to go near too, it made the rest of the weekend look like a washout. Mommy didn't want to ignore the sun and we went down to take some pictures. As I crawled around the pool and use the pool chairs to stand up and look around, daddy managed to take a snap of me standing by myself without holding the chair. I am doing that quite often lately, at times standing for good 5-6 seconds.

The drive back home was quite cheerful. We drove under the bright sunlight, taking a longer than usual pitstop in Toukley to make most of the sun.
